by Edison Beh

Some people been wondering, what happen to my games at steam after I reformat my PC? Since they brought digitally from steam, there is no reinstall using a disc. Here I will teach how can u backup your steam game including the patch/update that you updated to your game so far.

backup

1. Open steam menu, go to your Games tab

2. Select the game that you wish to backup by right cliking it then select Properties.

3. Press Backup game files to start backup your games file. (It will show “backup game file” for games and show “backup media files” for trailer, in this case i’m using a trailer to show the demo)

*In this menu you can also check for files missing, which after checking steam will automatically download to replace the file that is missing.

*Defrag the files if you feel the game loading time has been increase

4. At here you will see all games + demos + trailer that you downloaded. Select other games/demos/trailers that you which to add together with your backup game selected earlier by ticking on the box (if you wish do not add other games in, simply just press Next). After that press Next.

*I do not recommended backup several large games at once (more than 20GB). Separate them are better.

After steam finish backup your file press open backup folder, a window will appear. Burn all files contain in that folder to Disc. If your file are too big for your disc, it will separated into Disc1 folder and Disc2 folder and so on.
